Research shows that a strong sense of belonging is positively associated with wellbeing. Whilst each individual has their own fitness journey and goals, they can be empowered by sharing their experiences.
Our Fitness Team believe that by creating a strong community we can support the physical and mental health of our members. With this in mind, they are are excited to launch our new Club page on Strava to bring members together. The Nirvana Fitness Club on Strava will allow you to connect with other members, take part in discussions and group challenges and be motivated by others around you both virtually and in the gym.

Give kudos
Help others by giving kudos to their exercise entries. This is a great way of motivating others whatever stage of the journey they’re on.
Get competitive
For the competitors among us, segments are a great way to mix things up as you compete against others in different challenges.
Keep control of your privacy
You can choose to share as much or as little as you like with your friends or clubs. For example, you can even hide where you start and finish if you’re running from home.
Log your indoor training too
Strava isn’t just for outdoor activity, you can also track your indoor activity! Some of our machines like the WatBikes can be linked up to Strava, just ask a member of the team if you’re unsure. You can also manually add any activity.
Exercise safely
Did you know that Strava can help you avoid injuries by telling you when it’s best to replace your equipment? Depending on how long you’ve been using the same trainers for example, Strava will let you know how many miles you’ve ran and when it’s best to start looking for a new pair.

Train smarter with Strava
Strava offers a vast array of data and it can be hard to know which to focus on. Our gym team advise that your focus should be linked to your fitness goal. Click on the goals below to discover which stats you should be keeping an eye on .
Get faster
You can check your average pacing per mile on Strava and understanding your current average will help you track and progress towards your goal.
Increasing your running speed is a slow process so don’t pressure yourself. There are lots of factors that will effect your pace, like weather conditions, so you don’t need to look for a consistent increase.
Run further
Keeping track of your time and distance can help you reach your end goal. By taking small steps at a time and increasing your distance by no more than 5% each run, you can make realistic steps to help build up stamina and run further.
Lose weight
If you’re looking to lose weight, there are a combination of statistics you can track. Along with pace and distance, consistency is very important. Start planning how many workouts per week feel realistic and manageable for you. Keeping consistency and intensity will help you towards your end goal.
Feel good and increase wellbeing
Fitness is so important for our general wellbeing and anything that gets your body moving will make you feel good. For this reason, aim to stay consistent with any exercise whether that’s a run, cycle, swim, or walk. With a busy lifestyle, even if you can squeeze in a 15 minute walk, you’ll still feel good by staying active.
